Application Process

1. PHONE CALL:
We do an initial phone screening for all volunteers before setting up an interview. Contact us to verify your eligibility (for example, applicants who have had a recent loss are not recommended to volunteer directly with patients)

2. APPLICATION FORM:
Download, print and complete our volunteer application.

3. MEETING:
Hospice volunteering is a big commitment and the meeting gives us an opportunity to explain more about the types of work you’ll be doing as well as a great way for us to find out more about each other. Bring the volunteer application with you to the meeting where you will be asked to complete a background check.

4. TRAINING:
Depending on your volunteer assignment, you will be required to complete an orientation (for office volunteers) or attend one of our training courses (for patient visit volunteers.)

5. TB TEST:
All patient visit volunteers must undergo a TB test or chest x-ray before having contact with patients. TB Tests are performed here at the South Pasadena office.
